Well, it has been an eventful and exciting half-term, culminating with parents visits to Reception for their 'three little pigs' story re-telling, Year Three INSITE morning - both of which received amazing feedback - and then today Year Three ended their Roman topic by turning the Gibson Hall into a museum, bringing history to life through acting, presentation, sculpture, literature and art. Just brilliant!
I am really looking forward to the forthcoming parents vs staff netball match after the half-term break (although I am slightly concerned at how competitive this may become - I don't want any staff off school with injuries :-)!
Everyone at school was reeling recently from the news that Mrs Colmer, our office manager, will be leaving us in the coming months. Mrs Colmer has worked at Oldway for many years and we all value her knowledge and expertise. She helps staff, parents and children and her calm and professional approach to her work are going to be sadly missed. Mrs Colmer has been working hard in her spare time to gain additional qualifications and she will be able to use these in her promotion to School Business Manager at St Margaret's School in Torquay, where we wish her every success.
Our new office manager has been appointed, and more information will come out in the next newsletter.
