I have been working at Oldway Primary School since 2010. I have previously worked as a teaching assistant and supply teacher in our local area. Oldway, however, is a school that I am passionate about and is close to my heart because I was once a pupil here! I am so proud to be back as part of the Oldway family and feel privileged to have the opportunity to help children develop their love for learning and confidence in my home town. At Oldway, I have taught in Year 2 as well as Year 1. I am MFL and International Relations co-ordinator.
My biggest passion is performing arts. You will often catch me singing and dancing around the classroom! I lead Choral Assembly each week for KS1 and have led clubs over the years such as Drama Club, Dance Club, Singing Club and I am now part of Performing Arts Club. I feel that performing arts is an integral part of the curriculum as it helps to develop essential skills such as communication, co-operation and provides children with an active and exciting way to learn.
Outside of school, I really enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. I have been fortunate enough to travel around the world and loved exploring my Indian and Filipino heritage! I volunteered in schools in India, Philippines and Guatemala; an experience that left an indelible imprint and proved how education is truly invaluable.
