I have been teaching in primary education for five years, spending most of my time across years 5 and 6. As well as being a class teacher, I also act as a SLE of maths for the Torbay Teaching School Alliance (TTSA) where I get to work with and help develop other leaders in local schools.
Being physically active is certainly a passion of mine. I very much enjoy keeping fit and since a young age, I have been a keen sportsman, predominantly playing competitive football. My interest in physical activity eventually lead to completing a degree in sports and exercise science whilst at university in Cardiff, before deciding to train as a teacher here in the southwest (an area of the country I love to be in and have always lived). I continue to promote my enthusiasm for P.E. and always try to seek new fun and engaging activities and games for my learners to try.
Outside of school, I gain great satisfaction by taking my Sprocker Spaniel for walks (although he hasn't managed to master this pace). He also acts as my running buddy from time to time, motivating me to try and keep up with him. Recently, my wife and I (dog included) embarked on our first camping adventure together and thoroughly enjoyed it (the weather helped). We now plan on preparing for a longer tour down through France next summer.
