I remember the day that Miss Jackson and I came to be interviewed for the same job way back in 2000! Luckily, it was decided that we would both have teaching posts. I have been teaching in Years 1 and 2 ever since except for a short two year break in Year 3. The most amazing thing about being a teacher is seeing the children grow in confidence as they mature and learn new skills to be proud of.
The reason I have never moved from Oldway is because I consider it a wonderful place to work. The teachers work very closely in teams and this is a great way to ensure that the children have a fabulous learning experience during their time here. My responsibilities at Oldway include leading RE, a role in which I am constantly learning. I have also been lucky enough to run recorder clubs for the past 15 years!
I am a mum to two grown up children and a very proud Nana to my first grandchild. In our spare time, my husband and I like to take our caravan to remote and peaceful places. We both enjoy walking and are trained walk leaders for the NHS Bay Walks scheme.
