I first came to Oldway in 1989 as a newly qualified teacher and have never left! Oldway is an amazing school to learn and grow as both a child, as well as an adult. During my time here I have worked with so many talented teachers and made many good friends.
I have taught mainly in year 4 and 6, although I have spent several years teaching in year 3. When my children were small I worked part time and taught across the school. In 2000 I was appointed Art subject leader and I have been passionate about Art education ever since. I am currently lead teacher for Art in Torbay Schools and enjoying organising projects for Torbay pupils to participate in, for example Torbay Schools Alpaca Art Trail.
Both of my children attended Oldway (age 22 and 24 - I know I don't look old enough!) and look back at their time here with great fondness. My husband Paul is heavily involved in cricket, and therefore so am I! I love being outside in the beautiful Devon countryside and enjoy walking, although my dogs (aged 13) do not seem to want to walk as quickly and as far as me any more! I also love going to the theatre, gardening, travelling and spending time with my family.
I have been teaching for over 30 years in a number of schools in both Devon and Surrey. During this time, I have also been a Devon Science advisory teacher, a Leading Maths Teacher for Plymouth and a deputy headteacher. Since returning to teaching after having my children, both of whom went to Oldway, I am now working as a part-time teacher mainly in Year 6 and Year 3.
My hobbies are ferrying my family to various sporting fixtures and complaining about it. I have also spent the last two years unsuccessfully training our family dog to be obedient.
