Formally known as Miss Bone (!), I have worked at Oldway since 2002, first as Assistant Head of Years 3 and 4 and Key Stage One, and now as Deputy Head, SENDCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead. I trained at Oldway while at university – and always knew I wanted to come back!
I have a degree in psychology from Cardiff University and specialised in Early Years during my PGCE at Exeter University. My strengths lie in my inclusive practice. It’s very important to me that we support and nurture all aspects of a child’s development and help children to be respectful, responsible and resilient.
I have been supporting trainee teachers and Newly Qualified Teachers for many years, both in my previous school and at Oldway. I also have responsibility for Initial Teacher Education and NQT Induction across Torbay - as NQT Lead for Torbay Teaching School Alliance and School Direct Lead for the School Direct Primary PGCE programme, in partnership with Plymouth University.
Outside of school, I enjoy the cinema, baking and spending time with family and friends. I also love running and try to keep my training up with a few half marathons a year.
