About Us

Welcome to Oldway Primary School

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors of Oldway, I welcome you to our school.

We are extremely proud of our school and the achievements of our pupils.  Oldway has a deservedly high reputation for academic, artistic and sporting achievement.  Our school has been graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in our last four inspections.

The DfE and National College for Teaching & Leadership have designated Oldway as a National Teaching School and National Support School.

We aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which we seek to maximise every individual child’s potential, nurturing the self-confidence and self-esteem to enable them to make the most of their talents.  Our commitment to bringing out the best in every child is reflected in our desire to enable pupils to become:

  • Happy confident individuals

  • Successful learners

  • Responsible young people

  • Effective team players and leaders

Our school takes pride in the fantastic facilities we have to offer our community.  Pupils benefit from specialist rooms, including purpose-built accommodation for our youngest children.  Our classrooms boast modern technology to further enhance the high quality learning experiences we offer our pupils.  Pupils and the wider community also benefit from access to exciting grounds and play zones and excellent sports facilities, including a new sports hall and indoor swimming pool.

Our Conference and Community Centre is used to develop partnership work with other schools, community groups and Exeter and Plymouth Universities in our developing role as a National Teaching School.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit us, we would be delighted to meet you in person so that you can see Oldway for yourself.

We look forward to developing a productive partnership with you as parents.
