EFF Supporting daily routines during school closure (28/4/20)


This is a simple but effective video to watch with your child about how you can embed a positive daily routine at home during the time when school is closed.

Pick from a selection of child friendly songs/videos and sing and dance along.


- Here are 5 video lessons for Year 1 & 2 children about multiplication produced by the 'National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Maths' (NCETM). If your child is finding it tricky to count forwards and backwards in groups of 2, 5 & 10 from any number or the understanding of the concept of multiplication, then this is a useful step-by-step guide.


 - This is a fantastic website where children can practise their mental recall of timestables facts (only do 2x 5x 10x and 3x for a challenge), division facts (for dividing by 2, 5, 10 and 3 for a challenge) number bonds to 10, 20 & 100,  doubles and halves. It should be available on Windows and Mac. 


- The 'Gonoodle' channel on youtube has lots of fun videos to keep children active and are fun to dance along to!


- How to make a 'Kindness Calendar'.


- This website has lovely ideas for listening to and enjoying music with lots of different videos and ideas to look at!


- For animal lovers - Cincinnati zoo are doing daily live streams focusing on a different animal every day (you can watch these on Youtube after they have finished). They are also posting daily activities related to each animal on their website. 


- More for animal lovers - Chester Zoo has lots of resources and activities. Lots of animal fact files and ideas for arts and crafts. 


 - This is a lovely website for children who want to improve their drawing skills. Children can draw-a-long with Rob Biddulph, a children's author and illustrator.


- This website has spelling games for the  Year 1 & Year 2  spelling rules. 


-  This is Carol Vorderman's website which is now free to join. There are lessons with Carol and also online maths games to play. 


 - Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) will be uploading daily workouts for children at 9am for 30 minutes. Join in and keep active! 


 - Listen to audio books for free using the website below. They have books organised in to different age groups so you should be able to find lots of books for your child to enjoy!


 - Free e-books for your child to read online. 


- Free learning packs for all children of primary school age with resources to look at or print covering a range of curriculum subjects. 


- Free phonics games to play online. 


- Free Maths activities about Fractions (which we have just started learning about) & Measure. It includes worksheets and answers.
