Great Fire of London

Great Fire of London

Today (13/11/17) as part of our Science, English and History work, we visited the Fire Pit to explore flammable and non-flammable materials. We talked lots about how to stay safe and watched from a distance and predicted whether materials would burn easily or not. Mrs Cochrane then demonstrated this. We found out that metal, glass and stone doesn't burn but paper, fabric and cardboard is flammable.

We then had a go at re-creating the Great Fire of London using pretend houses made from wood and cardboard. We made sure we put a fire break in and found out that this stopped the fire from spreading.

Have a look at our exciting afternoon!
