Maths w/b 4.10.21

This week we are thinking about the number 5!

Can your child...

 

Show 5 fingers without counting them?

Can they count 5 objects accurately?

Can they count forwards and backwards to 5?

Where can they see the number 5 in the world around them? (e.g. on a clock, house number, on a phone etc)

Can they make groups of 5? (e.g grouping pencils into threes, grouping teddies into threes etc)

Follow instructions - e.g. can you do 5 claps, 5 twirls, 5 jumps etc

Can they say two numbers that add together to make 5? You could use objects to help with this.

 

You could also sing these number songs:

5 little speckled frogs

5 little men in a flying saucer

5 little ducks when swimming one day

5 little monkeys bouncing on the bed

5 currant buns in a bakers shop
