Promoting independence in English: We have been learning how to use word cards (our equivalent of dictionaries) to check our spellings. We have also been learning about the school marking code so that we can act on teacher's feedback by correcting our own work.
Place value lessons. In the coming weeks, we will be using a whole range of equipment to explore what numbers really mean (tens and ones). We started this block by counting out straws. We found that 11 had one ten and one one.
