As a school, we gather together each week as a whole-school community to reflect on the previous weeks, share successes, celebrate and think about our behaviour and our school community. Usually, assemblies are related to the Oldway value of the half term, or a special day, significant event or special person that the children learn about. Through gathering together as a school in our assemblies, the children learn to show respect for others, listen to others, learn about others and consider other points of view, and also learn more about themselves and how they can help others in need.
At the start of the autumn term 2021, we are not yet gathering altogether as a whole school in Gibson Hall as we normally would due to ongoing COVID protective measures, but we hope to do this as soon as case numbers allow.
During lockdowns and periods of remote learning, whole-school assemblies are available from 9.00am each Monday to share at home and at school.
