Pupils are offered rich and varied opportunities throughout their time at Oldway. These wider opportunities support personal development and provide rich learning experiences that enhance the curriculum. These are some of the many opportunities offered to our pupils:

• Riviera 70’ - 10 things every child should experience each year (see opposite)
• Sports events e.g. Paignton football league, school sports partnership
• Clubs
• Swimming
• Residentials
• Community links e.g. Oldway gardens, Rotary, Sound Communities
• Visitors into school and visits out of school
• Opportunities to work on extended projects with experts in their field e.g. Paul Hamlyn funded oracy and drama work
• Performances - Performing Arts; in-school music and drama performances; Young Voices
• Music events eg Visiting orchestras
• Celebrating key British events e.g. Queen’s jubilee, King’s coronation
• Careers development - Careers day led by student leaders

As a school and Trust, we have devised 70 things we believe all children should, and will, experience whilst at our school. These are loosely based on The National Trust’s initiative of ’50 things to do before you’re 11¾’. These experiences enhance the curriculum we offer at school.
